Miners shouldn't undesignate areas
« on: April 03, 2010, 04:54:30 pm »

In the new version, when a miner fails to path to a space to be mined, that space gets undesignated. This is really, really, really annoying, because if a single miner gets trapped it undesignates all the accessible squares from everywhere else.

I never ran into this problem. The miner shouldn't be getting trapped in the first place, son.

Not my fault that designating a large pump stack causes miners to trap themselves because of the new channeling behaviour (a miner channels a tile, then descends the ramp left behind, digs out the walls next to the ramp, then shouts "NO PATH" at the top of their voice. Oh, and the tunnel you designated to let the miner out gets undesignated the first eleventy billion times you try it.

It's a pathfinding glitch in the new version.  When that's fixed, you won't have to worry about it.
