Game speed/Fast forward

Is there any way to set a variable game speed? If so, allowing the user to set their baseline speed and, if possible, having a "fast-forward" mode to skip along those periods of time in winter where nothing is really happening. At the moment, for me, a year of game time takes two or three hours of real time, which is a bit ridiculous sometimes.

It is not exactly the answer to your suggestion, but is in the same kind of idea :

Similar, but they would work even better together: you don't want to speed straght by spring.

Only your first year has that problem. Your dwarves quickly get on different schedules so that there's always things going on.

That's not an issue, the problem is that if you micromanage, as it is so tempting to do, the hours fly by, and there's no time for anything else. I'm concerned about the amount of real life time being spent here ;0

Please add this in - it would really make the game a lot better. I finsd there are lots of time where I really can't do anything but sit and wait.

I think a 2x, 4x, and 8x time advance would be great.
