[31.01] Not able to replace/reassign outpost nobles (broker, leader, etc)

After losing my expedition leader in a terrible, terrible plumbing-related accident, I could no longer reassign any of my outpost "working" nobles (med dwarf, broker, manager, militia commander, assigned captains). Moreover, the entries for nobles I had not assigned (previous to the accident) are no longer on the noble screen.

Yea, it seems to be a common bug: http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=52200.0

Hopefully it'll be fixed in the next release - until then, you either need to try and play without those nobles or abandon and reclaim. It might be possible to re-add them by editing your save but I don't know.

Save/Reload seems to take care of the symptoms.
