So, I hope it'll be implemented, and it ADDS to gameplay, because shitting of fear dwarf will cause his military teammates lose temper and become berserks =).

Also for sure it's not important, like interface/control problem, but as a part of the dwarven lifecycle it could be neat (implemented some time later), thus the value of the rooms won't be determined by the number of statues there, but by cleanness too (I don't think dwarves like the room made of gold but full of vomit).
And yes, it adds a lot of powergoals + a new possibility to avoid nobles - make all rooms dirty and they won't come because your fort. value drops too low =).

If some of you nuts were in charge of this game, dwarven husbands would cheat on their wives and get syphilis. Then they would tantrum, beat their wife, and the whole fortress would be destroyed... unless you manufactured condoms!

DF is already pretty complicated. I don't want DF to end up more like a scientific simulation program than a fun game. Poop is not fun. Unless you are a monkey.

One way it could be done without adding a whole lot of stupidness is that periodically a dwarf "produces" a full chamberpot that will create a miasma if left indoors too long.  Perhaps have some mechanism that if it's placed too close to water, the water becomes foul.

Chamberpots should somehow be flagged a non-trade item, or everyone will be giving them to elves.

I agree that it's probably going a bit too far, it'd be annoying to tend to that sort of thing. But, it could add to gameplay in the fact that goblins or other nasty creatures could use their bodily waste to tip arrows and traps. Nothing like suffering a horrible infection after getting hit in the arm by a arrow covered in piss.

This idea only started coming up when folks started showing up from Yahoo or wherever.  It's only started to get ridiculously popular in the last couple of weeks, for some bizarre reason.  Makes me wonder.
