clear announcements function
« on: April 02, 2010, 07:48:50 pm »

I think it'd be a useful feature to clear the current announcement from the main screen. If the [more] tag isn't up, perhaps you could hit 'x' and the current announcement clears away?

It's an extremely small feature, I know, but it'd be useful for when I care how many dwarves are idling at the moment more than the eleventy billionth vein of cassiterite I just found, and I don't feel like reaching [sarcasm]all the way[/sarcasm] over to hit escape after I call up the announcement log.

Plus it'd take Toady like, 4 minutes to code it in, I should think.

If the main issue is that announcements are obscuring the idler count, you do know you can reposition "Idlers" in init.txt, right?  In vanilla it defaults to the top right, so I'm guessing you're using a graphics pack or something.
