« on: April 02, 2010, 03:45:38 pm »

there was an option in the finder and in init.txt to find/show magma pools/pipes in 40d but unfortunately i had a slow computer up until mid march and could not play on maps with more than a couple squares of magma without losing about 40 fps well now i have a fast computer but in the newer version it seems i cant find magma without a lot of luck and/or time  >:( anyone know what i can do?

The lowest layer of every map is made out of magma.
There's underground caves with underground lakes and rivers everywhere too.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Okay, I keep hearing about this. I've yet to sea it,but I'm currently still trying to make more picks so I can get a bunch of miners, I'll have it soon enough.

But can somebody explain this?

I've heard about "under the magma sea"

and I've heard of tubes of adamanitum leading down below it

and that the stuff down there is ever WORSE

can somebody explain this?

Oddly enough, if you just go into the "export local image" menu, you can look and see if you have elevation levels that are negative, because this game now lets you burrow down to the mantle of the planet.  (Of course, in DF, the mantle is only about 300 feet down in some places, although about 1,500 feet seems common.)

Anyway, the game will have one of those special announcements about "finding a path leading down" or something after you've found your magma sea if you have a cave down there deep enough.

I haven't had a chance to explore it, and see how horribly my dwarves get raped, since I've been more concerned with testing whether my mods are working or not, though.

Basically all I did, though, was just embark on low-lying land and dig a stairwell straight down.
