about modifying interface.txt
« on: April 02, 2010, 03:41:45 pm »

the first version of DF i ever played had some weird modified controls or something (i downloaded some modified version because i have trouble with ascii) and the numpad "/" and "*" were the controls for the "[CURSOR_UP_Z:]" and "[CURSOR_DOWN_Z:]" commands but now that i'm playing the new version i cant get those controls back and if i try it just goes to the bottom Z level and stays there i dislike the "<" and ">" for changing Z levles as i usually have one hand on the numpad and the other on the letter key area it slows me down quite a bit to have to use those

help?

I can't read that massive run-on sentence, but from what I surmise, you have a keybind problem.
See, there's this in-game keybind menu for precisely this.
Try pressing ESC.

yes well that is extremely long and as far as I can tell, there is no search feature. either way though, i looked the entire thing over and failed to find what i was looking for. it would be so very easy if someone just knew what i have to type in.

added punctuation to this one. happy now?

The elevation change binds are on the third page of the keybind interface.
Use 9 and 3 to page on the bind menu.
Make sure to (s)ave your changes or they'll be lost when you close the game.
(The OP is still one gigantic sentence)
