A highly unnatural relationship

What the...

NOTE: This same woodcutter murdered 2 cave crocodiles with his BARE HANDS (The damn grower had his axe at the time for some reason), so I'm not sure how he can have any wussy feelings like love or compassion left in him...

Perhaps it won his trust by delivering to him the mutilated bodies of several of its kin?

Perhaps Toady can shed some light on this.

Currently, the cave swallow is following him around and killing troglodytes and other creatures that come near him. I SENSE A FRIENDSHIP SHALL BE BORN.

That is incredibly badass. As soon as I get the accelarator bit to work I am making a fort on a cave. ;D

So in arena mode, this bronze colossus I spawned tore the steel armor of an elf and beat him and his 50 elf friends to death with it. Then he decided to name his little "toy".

That is... AWESOME Kael.

I foresee dwarf-beast relations rooms in the future where you stick dwarves and giant cave spiders/whatever in the room together.

"What's that ELF? You brought your unicorn to battle? Sick'em Shelob!"

Actually that could probably end badly 9 times out of 10. D:

All the more reason to try it. Blood for the Blood God, and Giant Cave Spiders for the Chosen.

Hmm. I think Toady said something a long while back about how dwarves could get attached to a particular item, like their favorite pickax or whatever.

Perhaps this also can occur towards wildlife?

That goodness he stayed away from the from the cave spiders, otherwise he might be caught in a rather sticky situation.

I think you're all missing what's going on here.

I'll bet five bucks that the text just got cut off, and that it's actually a giant cave swallow leather item.

I guess, except woose1 said it's following him around.  That'd be pretty difficult for a leather item.
