I have a vampire in my fort.

I don't really care, I'm anticipating everyone dying horribly when an ambush appears because I have 12 guys and no metal.

But I just accidentally convicted my cheesemaker of the crime in the new justice screen.

Anybody know how to de-convict him?

New version, same question as last time.  Underground complexes with coffins and such are tombs, right?  I don't see anything of value to steal, just mounted peasant corpses.  I saw two kobolds, killed them, but I don't think taking their stuff will trigger the mummies ( or other things ).

Seriously, there doesn't seem to be anything else.

How long do enemy corpses/body parts take to rot away? Still sitting with an Ettin skeleton from 3 years ago and countless goblin feet/hands etc. Getting tired of making my refuse stockpile bigger!

I have space in an animal stockpile and animal hauling labours enabled. Why do my dwarves not take the full cages in from outside? And is there any way to move them without having to worry about whatever's inside getting out? Every time I try to move a giant badger cage from my stockpile somewhere else, it escapes instantly and ravages my dorfs.

For stuff that escapes, you can either let them escape next to your military which will kill them, or you can build their cage and connect a lever to release them remotely.

Did Toady One change something in the behavior of cave-ins? I pierced a cave when I built my metal fall tube and a Draltha decided to walk into the tube. He walked down and I closed his way back into the cave and then sealed the upper end of the tube. Then I caused a cave-in onto the tunnel and I expected the falling stone to reach my magma forge chamber, killing the Draltha on its way.
But no, the block of natural wall decided to stop on my constructed floor.  :-[

Got dogs, got kennels, dogs are assigned to pen in the kennels, my Animal Trainer consistently refuses to train hunting/war animals.

There is a finely-engraved image of Ascimator on the wall. Ascimator is slapping himself in the face. The artwork relates to the loss of the only anvil in Perplextombs in the late winter of 6.

My expedition leader is usually my bookkeeper, so I'd say yes.

Are the dogs in a cage or on a chain?  They can't be trained if they're caged or chained.

Are they owned?  Dogs that are already someone's pet can't be trained.

Are they adults?  Puppies can't be trained.

Animals assigned to zones also don't get trained, just to add.

They do if the kennel is also located inside the pasture zone.

Can a manager/bookkeeper noble come by with 1 office? Has anyone else done this before?  I'm about to try it but if there are already some experiences or thoughts about it i would like to hear them.

Yes.  A dwarf with multiple positions that require offices can use a single office for all positions.  He doesn't need separate managing and bookkeeping offices.

Can stone pots be used to store both food and drinks?  Or will I need barrels for drinks?  Embarking on a volcano, so I won't have much wood.
