also, if i kill the badger men and leave the corpses (in a refuse pile i think?) then will my butcher just take them and go to work? im just very parionoid about food rotting after i once looted a carvan for its food, it all rotted thanks to a party and the fortress had to be abandoned.

They'll butcher nameless stuff like badgermen and the mounts of invaders (those are nonsentient but named), but not named invaders such as goblins. Go figure.

If I set up lots of spike traps in my main areas, would the spikes constantly stab stuff? And can I set up more than one pressure plate to a trap?

spike traps do NOT work by someone stepping on the trap, but need a manual or mechanical trigger

you'll want a "weapon trap", which also includes spikes, and more, which is not triggered by friendlies (or trapavoid), but then, trapavoid wont trigger the upright spear/spike trap either

I ment, pressure plates In my dining room and they are connected to spike traps, will itwork?
And can I connect multiple pressure plates to a spike trap?

i never use spike traps, so that i dont know.

you can connect as many triggers to a single "active" unit as you want
you can connect as many things as you want to your trigger too

basically, you can have one presure plate triggering everything (wont that be fun?)

Hello.
I accidentally pressed (r)outes and then (n)ame in (N)otes menu and game is hang-upped. Sort of.
It shows promt to enter name of point, but does not react to any key strokes except Tab and F11.

Did anyone encouter such a problem and does anyone know a way to get game running back without killing game process and restarting it?

Please, forgive me for many mistakes, I am not native English speaker.

So 8 spike traps with 20 pressure plates in my dining room, and have them all connected to each other, 20 pressure plates for each spike trap?

20 mechs for the plates

8x20x2 = 320 mech to connect them all to eachother

8 traps, 2 mech required for a link, 20 plates

Nope. Appears to be a bug. For now make sure to (a)dd a route before you try to name it.

Check the raws: no [CAN_LEARN] token, so badger men are not sentient, and should be butcherable under dwarven ethics.

They're a bit more like badger-monkeys than the talking badgers that never forgot Aslan.

Turkish delight, anyone?

Wait...I was wrong...there's a tag [APPLY_CREATURE_VARIATION:ANIMAL_PERSON] on badger-men, and that creature variation adds the [CAN_LEARN] tag...so it's true that they aren't butcherable without modding. Sorry for the confusion.
