Nil's right. I'll add that unless you're doing a minimal work with furnaces you'll probably want more than a single forge.

I was wondering does anyone have any good uses for junk materials such as lead? It's gotten to the point where im simply considering modding in lead ammo for bolts or lead warhammers.

If adamantine is perfectly rigid, as shown by having 0 strain at fracture in the raw files, then the speed of sound in the metal approaches the speed of light. Adamantine musical instruments would produce ultrasonic vibrations, and cut off the fingers of the musician.

From what I've heard, lead barrels and bins are useful, since they don't get scattered as much if you have to abandon and reclaim/visit in adventure mode.

trade goods/ decorations for trade goods

i dont always want super high value stuff, as i like to get buy with giving away as little total profit to the traders as possible.

Can I kill a bronze colossus with bronze weapons? If so, can I kill one by throwing arrows/bolts at it? Do crossbows and bows affect the damage the arrows make?

You can try, but bronze colossuses are notoriously hard to kill even with steel. In theory, you should be able to kill it by chucking arrows/bolts, but the time and quantity needed will make it effectively impossible.

The material of a launcher does not affect the effectiveness of its ammunition. Once you run out of ammunition, however, your dorfs will start to hammer the enemies with the crossbow, and that is dependent on the material.

The wiki says that farms require soil muddied stone floors. Will muddied constructed floors work?

Weapons against targets wearing the same metal type/are the same metal type do very poorly. I don't know if it would be possible, but if it is you'd need hammerdwarves of godly power.

Yes, but your dwarves may clean the mud out from under the farm.

Is there a way (hack, utility, etc) to locate specific minerals in the world without embarking, dfprospect.exe, then reloading if failure? I'm finding lignite and coal to be disturbingly rare with this new mineral placement system, even with mineral frequency relatively high. I'd like to confirm that I'll be able to fuel my forges without having to fight down to Magma early on.

One of my Dwarves has become possessed and taken over a craftsdwarf's workshop.
He keeps muttering, "Girustosal."
What, who, where... is Girustosal... I first thought it might be a mineral but I have no clue, (DwarfNoob)

Another Question,
I got 11 dwarves free, and it's nagging me. What can occupy a dwarf for a long period of time? I already have my miners digging a ridiculous underwater waterfall/well.

Having a few dwarves ready to haul stuff is always good. In fact, this is one of the things you can occupy them with, if you need things moved.

Otherwise you could always set them to churn out some type of craft.
