Large gems.  What stockpile?

They are bugged and no stockpile currently accepts them.

Eh? They don't go in finished goods? I'm sure I've noticed them going into finished goods before.

I hope this counts as a question.

I am not used to other names for dwarves, why do I see some people calling them "dorfs"?

And thanks for the reply about the RAWS but when you delete the whole creature string in the raw file it is gone forever (I'm playing on Genesis and I want to remove a whole civ, in upcoming maps that is.)

When you get mad at something they did, you will call them dorfs. Similar to humans calling other humans dorks. I worry about the term dorf. Sounds french to me

Well, everything makes mistakes. Even if it is repeated thousands of times, we still learn. Thanks for that quick reply!

Edit:How does one get an "empty" dwarven world? I've heard of forts that only received the first 2 hardcoded waves and no more. I'm up for the challenge but how would one know that his own civ has died out?

The embark screen should show no area with a dwarf statue. This means their last settlement was destroyed.

So either there should not be any Mountainhomes on map or there be any dwarves in the Legends?

do "dwarf" and "dorf" not sound almost exactly the same in non-american-accented English? or are you guys just kidding?

edit: because that's all it is, if there's any question; they're homophones.

Not really... For dwarf, do you not pronounce the w?

What's wrong with using magma? That's almost always the easiest method.
I have issues channeling it properly to do that method. I end up flooding the fortress with magma.

as I babble to myself in various corny accents i think it might be that the vowel sounds are closer in american english (or, at least, my particular midwestern version of it) than in, say, british english.  i say the w, but it kind of gets overpowered, especially when saying it fast or casually.

They used to, but in the current version finished goods stockpiles allow you to set which materials are stored, and there's no option for gem-based finished goods.  So large gems never get stockpiled, and neither do gem-based crafts or artifacts.

Thanks for answering those  :D

Somehow I can't see the end to my questions...

I finally was able to get two dwarves socialized! But the thing is, they are known now as "lovers" will that have any impact on their relationship or does it slowly become married even if they don't idle together (I'm asking this because the female is my military general. I do not want her to get sad - that will be fun)
