You can't build buildings on top of each other.

If I build it on normal ground, and put a road right next to it, will it destroy the road when it's lowered, or will the road be fine?

The two will never touch.

So it will refuse to lower, or it'll ignore the fact the road exists?

is it possible to have like 40-50 dwarfs only and still attract goblins attack and everything ?

because I heard you will only get attack when you have about 60-80+ dwarfs in your fortress.

No, it is impossible to have a road under a bridge in the first place. You cannot build a road under a bridge or a bridge over a road, even if the bridge is raised.

was playing genesis mod to try it, started digging down for magma.
and i dug.
and dug.
and dug.
and dug.
and breached the ceiling of an ENORMOUS 20z+ ceiling cavern. which ended in water.
found a stone pillar, went down.
and dug.
and dug.
and dug.
reached -5z level and decided to use dfreveal.
went down.
and down.
and down.
found sea of magma, something like -40z below.
question is...it's normal?
usually i find one quite more high, and cavern layers aren't separated by an underground "sea".

Depends on the way the RNG generated the world, and where you embarked, and most of all what settings you might have changed, if you changed any world generation settings.

I've seen 200+ Z levels between surface and lava before in 3-cavern layer standard worlds.

Normally with the forts I run though, I see lava within 20 levels because I have no caverns.

One of my better metalcrafters has gone fey - yay, legendary barrels...

Anyway, he's crying out for cloth (already got), rock bars (got iron) and body parts.  I've slaughtered the token animals, and there is hoof, horn and bone a'plenty waiting for him.  No dice.

He likes deer horn.  Tough, we don't, and have never had, any deer.

Every other moody dwarf has used whatever bone, horn or hoof on hand.  Are some more picky than others, or is it likely to be something else?

Make sure you have more iron, also, and making a couple blocks of stone wouldn't hurt, just in case - can always use them for workshops later.

Watch his wants list for a while.  If he wants iron 8 times, bone 10 times, and cloth 6 times, you might miss the one cut gem he wants.

Make sure you have plant, wool, and silk cloth, if possible.

He's gone mad - good thing I chained up a war leopard next to him...

But he only had 4 things on his list, none repeated, and anyway, I have several hundred of all metals on the map and the same number of blocks (preparing for something mega) - he already had the iron bars, cut gems and silk cloth, so this one was a little strange.

Oh, well.  Someone will clean the blood away sometime...  And given his likes, it would have been an iron quern...

I believe it's possible for a dwarf to want different classes of cloth.  Plant fiber and silk fiber, for example.  If you only had silk, he might have wanted either a different type cloth, or both silk and another cloth type as well.
Artifact Qerns are Awesome.  I put them in my dining halls.

I have like 10 levers and all of them are in the same room. Is there a way to label the levers?
