The save is from current version. Maybe it's corrupted because my power supply failed just after save, i mean from the main menu after saving yesterday?  Is there any way to uncurrupt the save or at least get the worl from there? :/

It is possible to get the same world again,
if you have the seed number of the world you created.
Of course this world wonīt contain any dwarf fortresses or historical events,
which were created by you playing the game

I have the save, but i don't know the seed, how do i get it from the save? And by redownloading you mean redownload df?

Only in DF do you get discussions of how to genocide babies and children because they take up resources, slaughter merpeople for their bones, eat raw kitten meat, and set carefree, happy elves on fire.

Is someone keeping track of all these?

If after creating the world you have pressed p (to export images/informations of the world created)
you will find the necessary files of your world in the DF folder ..
if I remember correctly there is a textfile which will contain the seed.

If you havenīt exported these informations I donīt know if there is a way you can still get the seed number

Yes. Re-download DF(or whatever mod you're using), extract it into a different folder, copy/paste the data/save folder. The new install won't have a save folder, so you can just drop it into the data folder.

Well, foo.

Guess you'll have to re-gen. I advise you to go into the d_init file in data/init and change the first few settings there.

So can I reasonably expect a large spiked ball made from silver to kill a gobbo? Should I put more than one in my traps?

Nope.
Not even a giant steel axeblade can be expected to reasonably kill a goblin,
as they often will block or deflect the trap weapons (or just jump aside)

Nope.
Not even a giant steel axeblade can be expected to reasonably kill a goblin,

however, putting 3 of them in a trap, and putting lotsa traps in a row, will defend very well.

if anyone wants to know of the "automatic goblin grinder" please apply here.

(it uses hatches to make goblins pace back and forth through the same traps)

But the waterfall of goblin bits down into my dining hall is soooo much prettier...

i started on a region with pillars in the sky and tower cap mushrooms in the open, half of the floor said "moss floor" stuff etc

the moment i unpause the whole map crashes down into gigantic pikes and stuff, fps keeps being sub 10, while normally i easily get 100 fps in an average fort (i have 5 miners (2 died the first second of embark) doing the slomo atm) what was going on?

I have a question: I noticed with the new updates early goblin sieges ocurr. I have 20 dwarfs in a fortress and I got a goblin siege. I'd like to play  a relaxed game for a while and I'd like for sieges to start like in older versions,  at 50 population (or something like that). Is there any way to do this?
