i am. on another note. if i set a military scheldule with a minimum, you know, at least 3(out of 10) at all times. will the same 3 that started always finish or will they sawp in and out, because they keep compliang of long duties even though theres plenty of others in the sqaud who could take there place after a while and its only set to 3 months at a time anyway. also want to know this for patrol purposes.

they do swap in and out, altho training frequency also seem to be affected by personality in ways unbestknown to me. I've seen guys never ever practicing in 2 years straight. The captains seem to always practice the most, too.

well it didnt work, they refuse to use the targets now claiming they are unable to follow orders. laaaaame

(anyone know a way to make this work, if it does?)

What's the easiest way to get tame animals out of a cage? I'm suck and f'ckin' tired of building a lever every time I wanna tame one of my catches.

Build a cage, any cage, somewhere in your fortress.  Assign the tame animal to that cage.  Wait for it to me moved there.  Un-assign the animal.  A dwarf will release it from the cage.

I solved the error spam with the booze barrel. I tried moving him somewhere by assigning him to a burrow. I selected the trade depot burrow (a burrow I made to send the broker to the depot if he refuses to come himself) and scrolled down to find his name. Then I found out he was already assigned to that borruw, causing the problem in the first place. I removed him from the burrow and everything is fine once again.

This is not the right thread for this, but... *facepalm*

view and see what they are doing. Most of the times it'd be picking up equipment.

Also, I muddied some pebbles and it say I can place farm plots and plant overland crops on it. However I later on got problem with growers keep on looking for seed (they have access to them and used them before) while trying to plant on that exact spot. So... bugged?

Nope.
Migrants are spawned in relation to wealth, fortress deaths, and how much profit your dwarven caravan made.

nah, they picked up the equipment but as soon as they had went to the statue garden to "cannot follow orders" as soon as i put the ground back they went ansd atarted shooting again.

This is what dormitories are for. Build a whole bunch of beds in one room and designate a dormitory from one of them (only one- you don't have to mark a new room from each bed.) The dorm is like the third room I dig, after food storage and an area for workshops.

No, miasma just puts an unhappy thought in your dwarves, but it is created from meat and stuff rotting so something probally died down there so watch out for cavern monsters..

-.- animals keep dragging down dead toads and leaving it everywhere. suggestions?
