If I run an axle from one pumpstack to another will that transfer power??
Sure, as long as the axle goes straight from one pump to the other in a straight line.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

How many Z levels down does the game go?

BTW, thanks for the speedy answers to my previous question.

All of them.

The exact number varies based on your worldgen parameters, though.

Am I missing something, or are flasks/waterskins and backpacks basically useless? Whenever I station my soldiers somewhere, they flash blue and/or brown arrows, seemingly disregarding all the provisions they have on their persons. Hell, just now I even saw one being given water from a bucket, thus needlessly putting a civilian in harm's way, even though he had a full flask on him.

Editedit: Minotaurs can't get by unlocked hatchcovers? Yes, they can, they would just rather wait until you send someone to remove the hatch so they can jump through it and kill them...

What looked like the minotaur waiting may have just as easily been him trying to smash up your hatch cover. I've recently learned that building destruction doesn't happen instantly anymore (and perhaps depends on creature size and building material).

Thank you, very appreciated.

Also, does attracting MBs, increase anything other than food? Would it cause great lore that I have slain one, attracting other friends and foes?

Nothing much, see below

No. However, you have a better chance of making engravings or other images relating to such megabeasts, usually associate with the event of slaying them. Megabeasts increase engraving value quite a bit.

I've killed several forgotten and "semi" mega beasts in my current fort, and most of my engravings, as well as statues, are still of boring shit like the creation of my fortress, so your mileage may vary.

Thanks guys. I have a few engravings, but nothing too crazy. Half of my fortress is engraved with the image of my first artifact, an animal trap, or the creation of said trap. So, I guess well see.

Edit -
Speaking of forgottens, I just aroused one. Fun ensued in the most hardcore way I have ever felt, Dwarf Fortress crashed, time to reload.

Soldiers will not use their rations while carrying out active orders. You can cancel their order as soon as they start flashing the arrows and they will eat/drink right there, if they didn't use up their last rations they will follow a new order afterwards (if they did they will run away to fill waterskin/get provisions). That said the main use of the flasks/backpacks is that a soldier spends less time eating/drinking that way.

Come to think of it, I vaguely recall seeing those pesky blue arrows disappearing immediately after canceling orders.

I have a new question. One of the dwarfs is standing inside the still with a barrel of booze in hand. He's just standing there, and I keep getting spammed with messages about him cancelling store item in stockpile: can't reach drop point. I have a few stockpiles that accept booze, and none of them are unreachable. He doesn't even have any hauling jobs enabled, and in the jobs screen he doesn't have a job listed. I tried making a booze stockpile under his feet, but that didn't help. He is also the only hauler having this problem. What could cause this problem, and how do I fix this?

I have no idea, but I'd try to deconstruct the still. Though I bet you already tried that.

Question: do active military dwarves refuse to clean themselves, or am I missing something? This is sort of a big deal for reasons I probably don't have to explain, and having to give them time off for decontamination purposes would at the very least be a pain in the ass, and more than likely too late to help.
