I'm building an execution tower to get rid of some stone (why'd I dig that pit...). Pimp gold-coloured orthoclase execution tower, yeaaaaah boi. Problem is, most of my prisoners are goblin thieves, and I've heard they don't behave well while they're being transported. Should I first assign their cage to be built (read: hauled) to the top of the tower, and THEN for them to be assigned to the High Drop?
Also, can I restrict valley herbs to strictly for use in making golden salve somehow? I'm not sure if it even has other uses. If they don't, can I restrict the seeds (if any) to being strictly for farming?
Valley Herbs are a high value cooking material, and cannot be brewed.
Cooking and processing to salve are the only uses I think - to restrict it to salve making, just disable it from cooking.
Dwarves *might* eat it raw. Never seen it but they might.
You can experiment and see though, just create a small valley herb only storage area right next to your meeting hall or work area (put it closer to most of your dwarves than the rest of the food stockpile. Forbid barrels so you can watch the graphics for changes, turn off cooking and don't process the herbs - watch to see if they disappear. Dwarves will almost always grab the closest food to them, so by putting the valley herbs close, you make it the fastest food for them to grab, and if they ever will eat it, they will likely do so pretty quickly.
