A somewhat heroic Spear-human succumbed, in mêlée, to multiple crossbowgoblins and now I'm wondering if he'll be buried in my coffins? I'd like him to be. (Also, the first one to die in ambush was a pack-donkey  :'( )
I think you can make a slab him, but not sure about burial. Make a slab and put it at his corpse maybe?
Ah. Thanks. Err, how do I make slabs? I read about them and that you'd needed to ask a mason shop, but didn't see it there. Also a humanoid FB made of rose gold appeared. How hard is rose gold? Also also; the FB is named Ufsmat Crabsmuts and it's a humanoid with deadly web. Not sure how I should picture it making webs with 'smut' in it's name.

Alt+S for a slab at the masons then you need to engrave said slabs at the Craftdwarves workshop.

Ahhh, much obliged. :)

Edit; ahh, doesn't seem to work. I have somethingsomething .18, I bet it's deactivated in this version.

Edit; just saw one of my hammerdwarves wearing cloth around his or her lower body. Never knew you could use plain cloth as clothes in game.

Does he also have a scar? Thats probably a bandage. And yeah, if you have version .18 slabs should be in it.
Too be sure, murder some dwarves by stationing them in a room and walling off the exit, forever.

Will adding the [learns_fast] tag increase the rate at which dwarves learn, and mitigate the poor training pace for military dwarves?

There is no LEARNS_FAST tag. Add this:

   [SKILL_RATES:###:NONE:NONE:NONE]

Replace ### with a number - 100 = normal rate, 1000 should probably be more than enough. This also gets rid of skill rust, controlled by those last two NONEs. I forget what they would have to be to keep rust at a normal rate.

Thank you for that. However, the wiki claims that "skill acceleration" isn't working at the moment. I assume that this is what it is referring to?

Question.

War Hammer:  Steel or Silver?

Silver is cheaper and I've read that it is good for making hammers, but is it that good?

Against armor, silver is probably a tiny bit better.

Against flesh, steel wins. Go steel.

Hi I'm new and I'm wondering is there any way to claim ALL items on the map?

Currently the only way I know of is to claim one item at a time.

Thanks for replying and helping me out.

Isn't there also a way of defining the learning rate for individual skills? I made a mental note of its existence, but I can't find the information at the moment.

Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

you sure about that bit? Considering how blunt weaponries work I'm almost certain silver will still beat steel against flesh.

Sorry, but going back to this- do I need to add that bit in any particular place in the dwarves' section of the creature_standard.txt, or will anywhere with the [tokens] do?

EDIT: Never mind, problem resolved. Entering [SKILL_RATES:AXE:100000000:NONE:NONE:NONE] right with the rest of the race tokens worked out, and has resulted in two legendary Axe Lords in thirty minutes. Finally, a reasonable training rate!
