Is it possible to edit 1.) undead animals and 2.) sentient creatures (like trolls) to make them tamable, or are these things hard-coded contradictions?

3.) If I add additional creatures to a civilization in the entity_defaults and make them playable, will migrants of that civilization randomly be one of those races? 4.) Is it possible to change the commonality of certain races in a multi-raced civilization?

Read up on creature tokens and entity tokens on the wiki.


Wait, what? Is that to say that even if a civilization incorporates multiple races, only members of one of the races it incorporates will arrive at the fortress?

I had a question about the Monarch of my civilization.

I've been a duchy for a year now, and I've fulfilled all the criteria for becoming the capital, the menu for it says so. Is there going to be an option for becoming the capital in the Diplomacy screen, like there was for electing a baron, or is the queen just going to show up one day?

EDIT: I do understand that I can't choose my queen, but am I going to be given an option screen for becoming the capital, or is this something that is going to happen as soon as the monarch arrives?

Why not, platinum is magma safe and should be fire safe too. Decorations shouldn't matter.

magma forge doesnt touch magma itself, any anvils would be safe.

On a side note, nice anvil.

So my current embark has no cavern wildlife whatsoever. There were some silk webs in the first cavern layer but i don't see any spiders. The overworld biomes are mountain and rocky wasteland. Is this a problem with savagery settings? I've also never seen goblins use mounts in all 3 forts i've played in this world, what did I do wrong on world generation (the first 2 forts had cavern wildlife)?

I've found that this is typical you when you first arrive and access a cavern. Are there many animals wandering around above ground? If so, that is probably why nothing has spawned in the cavern. Also, though I am not sure and would want to verify this, it seems to me that the frequency of animals spawning in a cavern or above ground alternates periodically, or may even have something to do with where fortress activity is most frequently taking place.

Chance is you have a hidden GSC or one of the many underswim creatures in your cave, which block other creatures from spawning. Unlike what the above poster said, creature spawn of each layers are independent to each other and you are always guaranteed at least a pack of them on each layer.

Ok I'll go looking for that hidden creature when i get home. Most of the caverns is revealed but not everything.
But about the goblin mounts, what do they require? The fort has been running for almost 10 years and i still only get the normal sieges with squads lead by elites/lords/masters.
