also i cant find anything telling me how to use it, ive downloaded it, what now
uh yes you should rid of it once you are done... Also the instruction is where you downloaded it.

1) Back up the raw\objects\material_template_default.txt in your save folder.
2) Replace said file with the file
3) Load the game, momentary unpause it to clean blood, save
4) Relace the file with your old material_template_default.txt
5) Load and resume play as normal

i found that file, i also have a folder full of things from df hack, one of them is df cleanup, its an application though.
what you mean replace?

(also there were no instructions were you sent me to download it from, or at least i cant see them, just a list of whatsin it. even the readme has no instructions)

Do different types of rock take differing amounts of time to dig through? For example, would the same miner take longer to mine granite than chalk?

The file you need to replace is at <DF folder>\data\save\<save name>\raw\objects\material_template_default.txt

If you read the readme of DF hack, you'd realize that you need to run DFclean when your game is running, preferably when paused. To be honest I'm quite certain you were just grabbing the files and didnt read the associated text.

How do I change the water tile default "~" blue to "1"~"7" blue numbers, that's all I need in graphics.

to change to the blue numbers, go to d_init.txt and find "show_flow_ammounts" and make that yes

second question: replace the .xml with the new one in the thread

Ah, I get you now. The file I've given you to download is called "material_template_default.txt". what I meant is to replace the file with the same name, "material_template_default.txt", in your save with the one I provided. After all the blood has dissapeared, put the old "material_template_default.txt" back in.

when changingto [EXOTIC_PET] to [PET] do I need to change [MOUNT_EXOTIC] to [MOUNT]? Or just delete it? It won't let me tame my giant eagle any ideas guys?

If a dwarf drops a baby at it's workshop then shortly becomes possessed is there a way to have the other parent pick the kid up?  Had a mom and kid stuck in a workshop and had no silk thread so.... mom went nuts and killed the baby and a cat that were in the room when I had to lock the door.  Really messed up.

I made a FPS helpfull world with the cavern layer at "None", but I'm still getting "Unnamed Olm Man Civs" and caverns. Any help?

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Did you really set the cavern layer number (not size or distance!) to 0?
Look at this (should be in data/init/worldgen.txt in your preferred embark setting):
