Is it small when playing in fortress/adventure mode, or just at the starting/embark screen?

Maybe I'm missing something simple, but I cannot get my dwarves to put booze-filled barrels into a stockpile.  I have a stockpile set to accept any drink, but they refuse to move the barrels there; they just pile up in my still.

EDIT: I had to change the max number of barrels allowed in that stockpile to get them to put drinks there.

In the stocks menu, I see alot of red numbers.
http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Stocks here it says those are Restricted items, why are they restricted?

And alot of stuff has the 'F' behind it. 'Forbid' why are they forbbiden? Because they are in use? What happends if I unforbbid them?

On the start menu/video.  I havn't got past that yet.  On .12, they both got big when I did fullscreen.

If you press TAB in the stocks screen it will expand the list of things.  Anything that's red is either owned by someone else, or inaccessable (example: If you've discovered a cavern, and you then walled it shut, any webs inside will appear in the stocks, but will be red)
To look at it the other way, anything listed that ISN'T red, can be eaten, built, used, etc.

If you've previously dumped it it will get forbidden after being moved.  If you unforbid them, your dwarves will be allowed to use those items again; currently they're sitting somewhere and your dwarves can't touch them.

Anyone know how to either make the screen larger or make it full-screen without it only occupying a small corner?

Change the init option from [BLACKSPACE:YES] to no. its referring to the black area around the game.

Thanks, but it didn't work.  The start menu still shows only in the top left corner.

does the furniture used to make a room not count toward the room value?

I made the classic overlapping dining room/throne room out of an articraft table, and the throne room turns out to be of the highest quality, royal or something, while the dining room is only decent.

what gives?

on the other hand, the burial place made out of an artifact casket is of the highest room quality

I had a 5x5 room for my mayor, serving as his study, dining room, and bedroom, with one artifact green-jade cabinet in it, and all 3 were considered royal rooms.

The start menu is ALWAYS in the top right corner.  Doing what he said will make your screen fill the whole area when you're in-game.

Be careful unforbidding such items en-masse through stocks screen, especially if you have no clue where they might be.  Items appearing here as forbidden can include posessions of cavern civs, if you unforbid and later accidentaly create a path your idlers will stream out. (they leave food and leather on the ground by their 'camp')

You may have an ambush in waiting. Unless you have a caravan.
If they are being worn(For example, a cave tribe using blowguns), it won't change anything.

I *think* different room types require different values per level. Combined with the sharing penalty, that would explain it.

I'm not sure how to change the start menu, but when you actually get to playing, it should change to fullscreen just fine on its own.

If you gen a world for 500 years, then play a fort for 100 years, when you go to Adventure mode will all the shorter lived races all die instantly once they get loaded into memory?
