Were the nobles still broken in .12?

Also what does (CLT) next to a workshop's name mean?

Baron is possible to get but requires you to delay your mayor's meeting with the liaison until after the trade caravan leaves.  Tax collector, hammerer, and dungeon master never show up.

The workshop is cluttered.

I don't believe so. Only Science will tell.

How do you look at an object, like a door, you put down, and tell what quality level it has?

I want to say |k| or |t|, but I might be wrong.

Brewery. With a brewer.

You need plants from farms or foraging.

Hey again, as you might guess I'm confused. Again.
What is everyone on about when they say 3D version? Are they just using something like stonesense?
Thanks.

Nope. It refers to the current versions of DF (2010 and 40d), with several z levels. The first versions of dwarf fortress had only one z level (horizontal forts built inside a cliff face --> 2D).

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.
I was beginning to think my version was really old.

Will an Artifact Gold Spear perform poorly as a weapon because it's made of Gold?

Yes, an object does get a bonus in aiming for being an artifact...but its still gold, you'd be better even with a regular iron spear

That's what I get for smelting gold bars when my weaponsmith got a strange mood. I kinda thought what people produced was largely random (mostly because most of my strange mood dwarves head straight to the craftsdwarf's workshop).

It's based entirely on the dwarf's highest moodable skill. A dwarf with no moodable skill defaults to the craftsdwarf shop.

Yet another question:
I've got a sheriff, I've got iron chains used for "justice" and I have an offender, yet he is not getting any punishment.

Thanks for the help (once more)
