I finally managed to get him to chop wood. I drafted him in the military, assigned him a battle axe, and released him. He's now walking around in full leather with 2 battle axes, but at least he's chopping wood.

This is a feature, not a bug, correct?
You're playing Dwarf Fortress.  There isn't much of a distinction.

If a civilization has only one fort besides you own, will you get migrants, besides the first two waves? The wiki says no...
Check the civ screen, if you have no important leaders, than no migrants for you.

You will get migrants then. Just wait. Next spring, you'll be drowning in dwarves.

I suppose the wiki is wrong on that then...

Thank goodness, this is one of the few times I WANT useless migrants for my military...

How could the wiki be wrong? It's been down for maintenance all day. How could it even be?

Unless your playing .13.
.13 loves migrants like a fat kid loves spinach.
(Not very much.)
(No offense to fat kids.)

AKA, it spits them out in disgusting green clods?

Because yeah, I saw the War/Hunting Peasants/Drunks/Thieves bug...

Luckily I use 31.12 :P

Could we expect a hotfix to correct some of these issues? What should one do to "drunks?"

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You can see the pool itself, the floor above with the ground channeled out, and the readout when looking at the zone  properties.

I know this was a while back, but I just want to say: THAT IS CLEVER! I've never seen the pressure-equalization tech of diagonal pathing used to such good effect.

So, I have a macedwarf that just entered a martial trance (31.13)  and then proceeded to immedately leave the martial trance.
... What just happened?
