PS, any ideas for my Depot access problem here?

No, not really. Wish I could help. I generally don't build ramps that steep, for aesthetic reasons. That might be your problem. I would try removing all the ramps and rebuilding them? Maybe it doesn't like the mixed ramp-types.

Errrrgh... I was hoping that wouldn't be the problem, I thought I found a thread saying that caravans were flat enough to go through one layer without needing any open space above them, and I was trying to save room in my non-mining challenge map. I may have to try the decon/recon solution next time I'm at my DF computer.

So Ledi's been training the cats into an army of disposable warbeasts?  Why did no-one think of this sooner?!
Hellcannon seemed to be constantly on the verge of death and Levergedon before my turn helped, but ultimately what killed it was Ledi's cat army.

I think you  already hit the nail on the head with your assumption,
that the reason are the 2 ramps being too close together.
If  I remember correctly that was one time in 40d  the reason,
why an underground passageway with ramps didnt´work.
Leaving 1 or 2 tiles space between the ramps on each z-level
solved the problem.

Is there an easy way to keep wild animals from wondering inside my fort?  i designated my squat to kill a horse foul and they started punching it to death which resulted in 4 mortally wounded dwarfs which where being ignored by my CMD  any ideas?

my arsonal dwarf also wont prepare equipment because he "needs office" even though he already has one!!??

edit:

ok the baby horse has grown up and spawned a foul durring the hours i have had 20 dwarfs chasing her..... this is ridiculous...

Narrow entrance with multiple weapon traps with multiple steel weapons.

I'd do that, but I don't think dwarves have words for "fair" or "logical".

Edged weapons too, bludging are kinda useless right now.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

1. Is there a way to create a list of nicknames so that immigrant dwarfs just get assigned a name when joining the fort?

2. I like starting over a lot, and trying new fortress designs out (I'm new to the game).. I spend most of my time just looking for a spot without aquifers. Is there a simple way to remove aquifers from the world generation? (I've searched on this and seen a few confusing answers)

So I made this fortress, my game crashed, all but the beginning was deleted.

Well, that's a start. So, I decided to abandon and reclaim it.

Is there a faster way to pick up all the items then k>f on every single object?

d>b>d>c

or

(once you have sufficiently accurate stock records) you can unforbid all of the certain items at once.

No. Poisons are implemented in pools and fluids, and there have been no reports of geographically contaminated water (or similar things).
