Ah it turned to summer while the planter was picking his butt and doing things that aren't planting.

Thank you.

Also I can't make silver picks or crossbows, and according to the wiki, silver swords suck.

EDIT: I just checked. It's summer and the seeds for summer are set. Planter's status is No Job.

I'm pretty sure silver crafts and furniture are fairly valuable. As far as the planter goes, maybe its the plot (ie its not irrigated correctly or something)? or maybe you turned off his labor?

Found something that might be a problem. According to the wiki, farm plots can't be planted if even one patch doesn't have mud, and this is the case. I'm going to just remove the whole farm area and then put it back, this time making sure not to plant on a non-muddy area.

EDIT: Sure enough, the planter wastes no time in going to destroy the farm plots.

[ITEMS_WEAPON_RANGED][ITEMS_DIGGER] to silver in inorganic_metal.txt. remember to edit the raws on your save's folder...

Is there a way that doesn't involve cheating or waiting for the trader? D:

It's an Untamed Wilds area, so it's pretty safe.

"Urist McDwarf cancels Clean Self: area inaccessible."

What kind of 'area' is necessary for them to clean themselves?  Do they need soap?

I have every type of zone available, but none of them seem worthwhile to clean oneself.

They need water. Build a well. Soap's buggy for cleaning self right now. It's best if used in hospitals.

Is there anything I can do about this green glass titan that just won't die? All its body parts are red, and I've been repeatedly jabbing it with spike traps for at least a month. I have it trapped between two upright drawbridges, so it's no immediate problem, but I'd like to know if there's some way to get rid of it.

Magma.

Magma.

Speaking of which, I still have to build 90 or so screw pumps to get that magma to my fortress.  :-\

My fortress is built in a volcano. Does lava work the same way as magma? Is there any difference at all?

I believe they are exactly the same thing though I could be wrong.

The only difference is whether the tile is flagged as outside or not; Lava is outside, magma is inside, and going from one to the other will changed the name accordingly.

What happens if I use an Atom Smasher on squares that contains water or magma?
