How do one makes dorfs gather corpses outside? I'm tired of sseng about 100 partial skeletons over there, in the burning sunlight. d-b-d won't work :/

Only in DF do you get discussions of how to genocide babies and children because they take up resources, slaughter merpeople for their bones, eat raw kitten meat, and set carefree, happy elves on fire.

Is someone keeping track of all these?

This might sound like a stupid question, but it's one that's been on and off my head for a while. If I have food that's worth 100k and it gets eaten, or a statue worth 100k and I atom-smash it, does my fortress wealth go down?

No, the dungeon master is bugged in the current version and never shows up.

He will do it faster if the other labor is time-intensive. I usually have a book keeper/manager/broker/gemcutter/setter.

Book keeping is really only labor intensive when you first start it, after that it's an every now and then thing.

How do i use dwarven atom smasher, read the wiki, put items under retracted bridge, make the bridge apper directly on them, but they are not disappearing, just acttering around the brige.

Retracting bridges don't smash anything.  You need to build a raising drawbridge, not a retracting bridge.

Use |w|a|x|d| while setting up the |b|uild orders to make the dwarves build a raising bridge in a certain direction. Be careful that you know which way the bridge raises and falls, so no dwarves end up under the atom smasher!

you need to switch the type of bridge you used. Retracting bridges don't smash. Only drawbridges.

Also: There is a large clay loam in my finished goods stockpile. Apparently you can get large clay loams like large cut gems?
I have Large Clays, Large Silty Clays, and Large Sandy Clays. They are listed as Large Gems. They have been created in my fort.

What are they?

I figured out that much on my own.

But are they supposed to represent? A big-ass glob of clay?

How did I get them?

(afaik) they're supposed to be rare things that good artists make, admired for their beauty and uniqueness. no one wants to use it for anything else...
...
just sell them to caravans as they cost more.
