I found it in creature_insects. I use Genesis, so ymmv. do a "contains text" search for [CREATURE:ROACH_LARGE] if you can't find the file.

Only in DF do you get discussions of how to genocide babies and children because they take up resources, slaughter merpeople for their bones, eat raw kitten meat, and set carefree, happy elves on fire.

Is someone keeping track of all these?

I found it in all the RAW, but when I load the save it looks for the now absent values.
I'll try going to a place that doesn't have roaches maybe and then trying this again, but I'm not sure that will help.

Hook 'em up to a lever. Set on repeat.

There's no water on this map. It's not a desert (there's grass and trees), but it's Hot, and basically all the murky pools evaporated before I could get anywhere close to making a functioning cystern.

My question is, if I make soap for my hospital, will my dwarves still need water to clean the woundeds' wounds?

(Yeah, I know, we're gonna run into issues with the hospitalized having nothing to drink...well, I guess at least nobody will be in a coma for the rest of their life.)

I'm having a problem. My announcements is being spammed with "Kratos" Cancels Hunt: Could not find path. Is this a bug or is there something I am doing wrong?

If you didn't play with burrows and stuff, most likely you have a partially revealed cavern.  Send some military dwarves down there to finish mapping it, or seal it off.  Or both.

protip: you don't need to water underground soil ;)
protip: caverns are always covered with mud ;)
...
but without DFliquids your only hope is to...
nah just use casts. they seem to help with infections better.

Don't casts need water?

I hear there was some way to sap a siege from below (sending them sprawling down one z-level, hopefully breaking some important bits and sending them running). Is this true? 'cuz I'm thinkin' of pissing off the humans to get some iron. Only got silver on this map, man. Feels baaaad.

I have a problem with my squad of Marksdorfs. About half of them, at any given time, have the (cannot follow orders) status. I've got ample crossbows and bolts, more than enough archery targets, and they are set to training/active. I've tried schedules that require all the dorfs to be training. I've tried schedules that require all but one to train. I'm not sure what, exactly, is wrong.

Is the ammo in a stockpile? I read somewhere that ammo in a stockpile is inaccessible to marksdorfs.

Also, do you have any hunters and did they claim all of your bolts/quivers/crossbows? You can view the claimed bolts in {m}ilitary {f} ammunition screen.
