So all I have to do is make the water wheel horizontal and take into account the size of the pumps. Gotcha.

The rest of it is okay, though? With the axels between the pumps and the water going back into the brook and all that?
pump receive power from above. Read on the wiki about machinery design

(Nevermind about the gear assemblies.)

So it seems I'll need some extra power for my axels. (X is water, A is axel, W is water wheel. Also, presume that three W's is one water wheel.

That would work to connect them, right? (Thus giving a total net power output of 180, which is more than enough to achieve the Moses effect by my calculations)

Hi there,

I am wondering how long it takes for a goblin to drown? I built a drowning chamber according to the specifications on the wiki, and i was able to trap a complete goblin ambush party. The goblins can't escape to anywhere, they are standing on the same tile for some time now. Their tiles are filled 7/7 with water, and they are now swimming for over a month. I don't know if this is normal, but it is starting to annoy me. I should made a magma drowning chamber from the start...

Has anybody got an idea what could have gone wrong?

Are they caged?

They should not be caged or else they will not drown.

They should not be caged or else they will not drown.

I'm aware of that, but nothing happened to those goblins before entering the drowning chamber. They are unable to escape, because I raised two bridges on both sides, so they have no choice but to stay in the water. Those are really tough ones, I think.

Well, I'm building a goblin grinder right now, so if they do not drown until the grinder is completed, they are free to move another twenty tiles into my fortress  8)

A grinder? Tell me about this. Does it involve serrated discs and spikes?

Menacing ones?

I'm building something similar...except I have a cage trap corridor and am going to build a pit full of traps of the menacing spike variety.

It's sure to be lots of fun to watch for the kiddos once we capture some gobbos! Or elves, I guess, seeing as I'm going to eb trying my darndest to start war with them...
