maybe, I dunno. But it's still useful to have broker and bookkeeper and manager the same guys... one actually useful noble. the thing is if he dies then you've gotta reassign 3 jobs not 1.

you need  a broker with appraisal to see item values. Bookkeeper keeps count, not appraise.

Fairly sure bookkeeper needs to have it too. May have been an earlier version and I am mistaken, however.

I have my mayor as bookkeeper/broker/manager.

I was talking about how the bookkeeper doesn't need appraisal to do his job, or to do it any better and that you can already see wealth and etc in the stocks menu with just a bookkeeper.

I've heard something about ghosts. I decided to ask here but then I remembered the wiki. 1 answer was still left unanswered. From what build did the ghosts come?

I have a tanner with a fey mood. This isn't the first one I've had, so I know the deal.

But he's sitting in the dining hall, not claiming a workshop.

He's a tanner, a grower and a bonecrafter. I have a tannery, kitchen, farmers workshop, still and craftdwarfs workshop.

Or is it that they won't claim a workshop that someone is using?

To tame a wild animal, does it have to be in a built cage or a stockpiled cage?

So... I experienced my first DF crash this morning, found that I had lost about 2 years of critical progress,  and I have to admit, it has utterly killed my enthusiasm. It happen while I was customizing the military's uniforms- is there a chance that the crash was related to this, or is it a random failure?

I don't think I can handle random failures. :/

turn on seasonal autosaves in either init.txt or d_init.txt

for bug reports copy the contents of errorlog.txt

How does one go about editing the population cap?
And can it be done on a current save game?
Or would I have to restart?

Forgotten Beasts seem to be akin to Toady playing Russian Roulette with your fortress, as they can be anything from harmless giant worms made of mud to necrotic-gas spewing nigh-invunerable iron hydras of doom.

data\init\d_init.txt [POPULATION_CAP] and it should work midgame. Just restart the client.
