What's the exact date of each caravan arrival?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

There is no exact date, though in my experience caravans more often show up later in the seasons than earlier. What is pretty much certain is elves show up in spring, humans in summer, and dwarves in autumn. No caravan arrives in winter.

Secondly: In my fortress, I can either have a broker with appraisal, or one with Judge of Intent, but not both. How do I fix this?

except for a rare goblin caravan that I've heard about. if they don't regard you as hostile then you get the crappy equipment from them at medium price

new post: get the one with appraisal, he'll potentially learn JoI. get the JoI, first trade should give him dabbling appraiser.

your choice, depending on needs.

I have a population of 107, a duke, but no king arrives. Lots of roads of obsidian, 20k of offerings to the dwarfs and a lot of architeture value. Anyone know how I get a king/queen?

Also, how do I appoint a champion?

afaik high monarchs only arrive when pop is at least at 200. btw offerings to the dwarves may have no actual meaning. at least not in .14

oh, and embarking on camps is really funny. a loyalty cascade 5 v 1 is helarious.
is there a way to mod raws around this so I can actually die?

Actually, pop req for a monarch is 140, according to the wiki. I can't vouch for this first hand, though.

I had my first 31.18 siege today. A goblin one, after 5 years and 110 dorfs and over 2.7 million wealth they finally came.

The problem is, they're just standing on the edge of the map, like human sieges. I tried to raise and lower my main bridge, to try to reset their pathfinding, but still nothing.
Some wild bonobo walked just past them and also they had no reaction.
I'm thinking about sending some military there, or maybe a single friendless dorf to act as a bait...

I forgot about the question per se...

Will a team of 6 Legendary Fighters/Shield Users, on Copper Armor and Steel Axes be able to beat a siege of 14 copper spear leather armored goblin pikemans?

The init_data file for 3.18 says the population requirement for King is 80. The entity list seems to indicate that it is 20... is there anyone that can verify this? I'm interested too- my graphics card can't handle more than 100 dwarves.  :-\

Here's your quid. I sent a move order to the squad right next to the goblins. All the dorfs went there happily, but, to my surprise enragement, a single "Professional Axedwarf" arrived way before the others. After attacking a goblin about 10 tiles away from the others, all the 14 goblins charged to him. "Oh god, another massacre again, my dorfs will fall one by one".
But then, unexpectedly, as the other dorfs were arriving, UristMcFirstToBattle kicked slashed the crap out of the siegemakers, killing 4 goblins on the spot and severely wounding others in the process (btw, how come a goblin without both legs can walk or even crawl, and my fisherdorf who got only a bruised ankle BUT A SEVERE MOTOR NERVE DAMAGE, will never walk again?)

Mr. UristMcAxeslayer just went to my hall of fame.

If I build a roof over an area previously exposed to sunlight and make my militayr train there, will they get cave syndrome or whatever it is? :)
