Hmm intersting...wait a minute
« on: April 02, 2010, 01:04:38 am »

So I have been going through my dwarf status screens and noting most of them are 60-80ish and while that is not odd on its own the fact that i stopped worldgen at year 50 and its now year 51 is....Where did the dwarfs come from?

Think if it this way, IRL, the year 0 was the year Jesus was born and we started recording time, not the year time began.

hmm you have a point and ill admit that did not occur to me...
Still the time before Armok was either relatively short or the dwarfs where the next to last thing created...which makes sense as to how worldgen works(all my dwarfs are the first of their kind(which was the whole point of stopping at year 50))

Dwarves were indeed created at time 0.

However, it would have just been mean if Armok created all sentient races as babies at year 0.  They wouldn't be old enough to build houses and traps, and the first wolf who grows up at year-2 would eat all of them.

I mean, that sure is dwarvenly, but it would have led to a very boring world.

but if it worked that way it might explain why dwarfs are insane...and why they no longer stop working to do pointless tasks like eat...drink..sleep all the way to the point where they snap(and military dwarfs do this way to often >.<)
