It's happening with me too. I have so much gold in my fortress I can't find anywhere to put low-income housing. My stockpiles, workshops, dining room, bedrooms...gold floors everywhere. And tetrahedrite, but mostly gold. Beautiful, delicious dwarven gold.

I dug down into a white sand soil level to find a nice vein of tetrahedrite immediately there in the middle of the sand.  Loads of visible gems and ores all over too.  Every map is now dwarf heaven, woooo!

Low-income housing? Why should anyone have that? :D

Yeah, stuff seems to be pretty rich, although imho the heavily volcanic areas are now much better than the sedimentary areas if you can obtain flux, being as you can get 3-4 levels of igneous extrusive instead of one layer of sedimentary and 6-7 layers of igneous intrusive and naught but gold and tetrahedrite.  ;D

I'll be damned if I'm letting my cheesemaker have a room with gold-laden walls.

I tend to build in the middle of nowhere, so at first I thought the computer had just chosen a really good default embark spot, as it's prone to do.

But yeah, I can't even build a dining room without some sort of ore running through it, and there's different clusters of rock everywhere.

This'll be interesting, that's for sure.

EDIT: I wonder if some of this is designed to compensate for the fact that some of the underground will now be caverns?

Well, I found a big vein of Bauxite, and it's locked up in a room somewhere in my fortress, just in case I run into any Magma (Not that I'm really betting on it or anything).

I like the clusterfuck of minerals, now. There are so many, I don't mind not butchering my fortress design just for a few more ores.

Bauxite isn't special anymore. Cthulu's melting points mod has been folded into the main release, so stones all now have a realistic MP and occasionally BP too.

Native platinum! Kimberlite everywhere, with diamonds! Shitloads of gems! Haven't found iron ore yet on this site, but it's bound to show up.

Lost Requiem- You can bet on it. Just dig a little deeper...

I found like three star rubies sticking out of the soil on my cliff...and when I dug out some more normal rubies I found another one!

This seems like a GOOD thing.

I don't like this. Everything's too easy. Nothing is special any more.

I generally dislike change though, so I suppose I might warm to it. More likely I'll just stop caring.
