I knew the ogre would get me.

Of all my tests, the only creature that I couldn't defeat was that ogre.

...I think I'm gonna register myself for the second tournament.
And I'm gonna be an Armok-damned bastard doing that.

Species:Centipede
Gender:I dunno, lol. Pick one.
AmmoNot needed.
Weapon:None.
Head Armour:None.
Hand Armour:None.
Body Armour:None.
Foot Armour:Clownite shoes.
Leg Armour:Slade loincloth.
Shields:None.
Skills:None.
65 + 35, giving 100.
Tank anyone?

Edit: I just noticed you can't actually spawn centipedes. Is that moddable or do I just take some other creature?

I've only just realised that a cloth turban will actually burn off fire men. That explains what all that smoke was when I spawned him.

I thought it was quite cool really, as you could just kit him out with some poor quality pig tail robes and a hood, then watch it all burn off as he runs into battle.

A couple of points-
1)Races should cost points, since I don't think their are any disadvantages of using an ogre rather than a dwarf or things like that. Could possibly be used to fix iron men- make them cost 100pts and maybe it will be fair.
2)I had a look at the first post and noticed you put obsidian at the same cost as steel. I checked in arena mode and there was no option for obsidian, and if you do mod it to be available it uses the stone template with the exception of a higher max edge. Its max edge is higher than all metals but HFM but otherwise has lower stats, so I don't know how it compares.

No, unless you Toady removed them, you can make swords out of obsidian and a craftdwarves workshop. They were exactly as deadly as steel in the old version. Probably not now though.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

I noticed that a good marksdwarf can take down Iron Men with ease, btw. The arrows pierce the metal easily and a bunch of yellow dust flies out. For me it normally takes about four shots, and they're down.

Kennedy and his crew were tossed into the water and surrounded by flames. Kennedy, despite a chronic back injury and an even more chronic boning-induced-exhaustion, managed to swim four hours to safety while towing an injured crewman by the life jacket strap with his teeth. His fucking teeth!

I'd like to request a competitor.

Species:  Merperson
Sex:  Male
Bronze Breastplate (16), Bronze Shield (16), Bronze great axe (8)
Professional Axeman (55)  Novice Shield User (5)
Total points:  100

I was tempted to go naked merperson with a slade great axe, but I'll try the more balanced approach.

Question: Could non-aquatic creatures atleast get a few points in swimming for free when fighting against aquatic creatures? Otherwise they'll just drown on the spot.

There are a few places along the central waterway where the water is the right level for both aquatic and nonaquatic to stay alive.

Ah, nevermind then.

My entry:

EDIT: Changed slightly...

Species: IRON MAN
Name: Huggz
Steel Two-hander - 16
Clownite Breastplate - 33
Clownite Greaves - 33
Competent Swordsman - 18

EDIT 2:
Also, I suggest keeping skill gains earned so after a fight, check what skills a character has and use them, so if it gains swordsman skill, it keeps it. I also suggest that all items and skills are reset to the original level when you die (Apologies if this has already been suggested/is in place)

Never mind :P

EDIT 3: Make it a Giant, actually...

So, at the moment:

Species: Giant
Name: Huggz
Steel Two-hander - 16
Clownite Breastplate - 33
Clownite Greaves - 33
Competent Swordsman - 18

And questions:

Why are breastplates cheaper than chainmail, and greaves cheaper than leggings?
What is bugged about grimelings?
