I have a plot built, a farmer with farming (fields) turned on, and nothing else on, and when I look at the job list, there are no planting jobs....

Anyone have any ideas?
There is a slight bug where if one square of the plot isn't muddied no seeds will be planted on the entire plot.

Are your seeds in barrels?

The easiest way to get irrigation to work is to hunt for waterfalls. You can then connect the upper part of the river to your farms, through a floodgate and use a drainage passage to drain your farms after the floodgate has been closed.

that's easy? I built a pump next to a brook and powered it for a second. Bam! instant irrigated soil. would also work with an aquifer. The only way I can see it being hard is if the only source of water on your map is an underground ocean.

Hi, this is probably a noob question, but i set up some floodgates to irrigate my farms. i could open and close them before i started flooding thing, but once the water came through i couldn't close them again. I understand that if anything is blocking them they won't close, so i assume its the mud that i created that causes this. How do i stop that happening next time?

It is odd that you have to irrigate soil for it to work, but I like having to irrigate stone.

Also, if you find a cavern underground, it has masses of pre-irrigated mud down there.
