My dwarves definitely seem to melt in the rain. Though it only started recently. At any rate dwarves have started having their feet melt outdoors in a reasonably temperate area (birch trees and the like) I'm going to see if the lake water melts em too.

I'm in a tropical biome, I think it's hot but not scorching? No deaths so far, let alone from being rained on.

And then what?  Mine the sky? . . .  Actually, that'd be awesome.

My place is raining constantly... and so far nothing >.>

Also, just in case this DOES start happening. If we have caves that EXIT the map then can migrants come through them?

This just happened to me.  Desert/Woodlands/Mountain, I think they were all warm.

It was kinda lame really.  I wanted to do some surface farming instead of the usual/boring dig a hole and never leave.  Then everyone died.

Anecdotes like this are making me paranoid about where I embark. Argh.

I haven't had any unusual melting yet. Just the magma-induced melting.

It started raining, then all my dwarves outside started bleeding to death. On inspection their upper bodies were missing.

Sigged.

I didn't see any acid rain, and I embarked on an area that rained a LOT. So much, in fact, that my dwarves all got crushed to death.

APRIL FOO- wait, what? It's over? NOOOOO!!!

Turning off the temperature in the init file seems to stop the death rain.
