Adil is my chief medical dwarf and Asob is my mason. Apparently, Adil loves his flasks so much that Asob decided to make a statue of him absolutely surrounded by them. I put it in my communal bedroom so that all the dwarves could take note of Adil's flask fetish.

So, how are you guys going with the new version? What is your fortress shaping out to be? Seen anything weird?

Oh, and on another note, can anybody tell me how to work the military screen? I couldn't figure it out for the life of me...

Hee, yeah, I couldn't figure out the military screen either. So far my fort is being flooded with semiuseful migrants and I've dug deep into the earth, not too deep yet though, sadly my way has been blocked by water.

Yeah, statues are a little weird. In arena mode, I created an iron man and killed it with a superpowerful dwarf. The statue it left behind was of some sort of bird...

"Flasks" makes me think of whiskey flasks.

Which, in turn, causes me to picture a doctor surrounded by empty flasks that used to be full of (medical?) alcohol until he got a hold of 'em.

Hit "C" to create a squad.

You can now choose who you want to be in the squad itself.

You'll also need a militia commander from the "n"obles screen.

Use "s" to access the monthly schedule,

the "c" and "p" keys can be used to copy and paste a schedule down.
 
"W" adjusts weapons and equipment.

I killed a colossus in arena mode and got a statue of a "Plump Helmet Man"

I hope that's just something fanciful, because I'm gonna freak if one of these days a monster lurches out of my food stockpile.

I kinda got the military screen, but do you need a militia commander? My dwarves are training (or were, before they all tantrumed- why wont my planter PLANT) and I don't have one. Just hit a cave, too, so I hope they will fight.

I found some plump helmet men. They weren't aggressive, and for some reason my dwarves were incapable of attacking them, even with a kill order.

I haven't looked carefully at any statues yet, but I got a picture of some particular historical dwarf surrounded by cheese.  That was kind of unsettling.
