My math, sort of:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Turns out I suck at math.

Of course, if the Bronze Colossus is not at least roughly human shaped, all bets are off. It's body type is humanoid however, and its appearance modifiers aren't too whacky, so I think it's safe to assume it is.

As for the Dragon, yeah, it's probably actually shorter than the Colossus. Still completely huge.

I think this makes legends even more awesome, as I read about the bronze colossi and the demons having epic struggles in the lesser mortals cities. Allthough I suppose it does even further stretch the vague spatial relations of exactly how big one tile is...

In fact, in keeping with the threads spirit, one of my woah moments from the new version:
Looking at legends, and seeing a huge rash of megabeast deaths among the demons! Shocked at this, I look at them, and as it turns out, they were all slaughtered by one or two Bronze Colossi, who attacked their settlements and killed them when they fought to protect their stolen kingdoms.

Don't you know?

A single Urist of space (which we inaccurately refer to as a tile) contains an infinite amount of space. It is merely the rules by which our little friends govern themselves which prevents them for walking around locked  doors and walls and other obstuctions. Large creatures simply go around them, in the infinite space that is the Urist. Unless they are a building destroyer, in which case they destroy the offending impediment and go around the rubble. Thieves are nicer in this regard, as they merely go around the locked door, leaving it perfectly intact.

Also, they don't actually walk from Urist to Urist, as walking an infinite distance would consume on infinite amount of time, and we already have enough FPS problems. No, they merely shift themselves in space-time. So, in conclusion, no creature truly walks through a door, it merely occupies the same space as the door briefly, before teleporting onwards.

Now explain how water can fill a Urist.

Actually, if volume increases based on size, it would be a height of (avg human)*(285^(1/3)) or about 40 feet tall.

According to Google, the omnipotent being second only to The One Toad, 40 feet = 12.19200 meters

Tall. Not uber massive sky scraper tall, but I can see him thrashing around in my fortress.

On a side note, am I the only one to notice we only have one animal pull our cart to the embark site now?

Your going to 40d over a horse?

YOU WERE JUST GOING TO BUTCHER IT ANYWAY! And anyway, now animals give about twice as much food.

Dig deep enough and yea, but if you want lava in the first 100 levels only specific sites will have that, and still possible to get a site with no flux.
