All options are exited via ESC instead of space. That is annoying.
push esc to get to key bindings and change Leave Screen to Spacebar, then push s to export to txt. works for me.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I think i will now embark on a cave- Dwarven Exterminatorteam!

Also i love it that you get magma (And most likely a great water reservoir) on every embark location. Often great sites where ruined for me because there was no water/magma.

Created a world to year 187.
First fortress ended with a crash, not sure why, so I can't really report it. Decided to take a few adventurers out.

The first one got the quest to kill - in the same city - a

. Obviously, there's only way that could turn out. When I first searched him, I got messages of cave creatures stumbling into webs and the like. Traveled away, re-approached the city, and got the option to travel near a creature. Only saw a child, but it continued to move away. When I got back to the city, the first thing I see is

- maybe there's a cave entrance in town, but I didn't find it. The adventurer finds his predictable end at the hands of the townfolk when I attack the law-giver.

Checking legends mode, I see another new historical figure besides my adventurer...

killed that child I had seen.

The second adventurer, I sent to a nearby cave. Stupidly, I fail to find the entrance, and suicide, and embark with a few dwarves on the cave. Ohh, there is the entrance. I militarize my miner, and send him in, fighting a few trogs along the way, and watching a trog kill a gremlin. There's a few

With a third fortress, I meet with a strange occurrence - the miners dig ramps for wagon access, and suddenly they seem to be stuck to them. Militarizing them doesn't help. A third adventurer goes in to examine, but finds the ramps in working order (having read the bug thread, it seems to be related to a posted bug).

Now I'm on my fourth fortress. I had some concern that dwarves might be a tad too dedicated to jobs now, flashing with thirst, but so far it has worked out.

Legends mode of that world has

The new materials are pretty hardcore. I mucked around with the arena, and out of something like 30 fights, my bronze armed dwarfs *always* killed my iron armed dwarfs. the worst injury was a severed nose when one of the iron guys got lucky. The only times iron won out is when the fight was otherwise uneven.

Also,

I want to wait until the release is a little less buggy, at least in fortress mode.

Also combat takes much longer. I fought an axemen with my adventurer and we coulnd`t hurt each other- Thanks to our bronze armour.

We both could only inflict some bruises..

Though, the idiot axemen only wore an leather cap. But my idiot adventurer failed to wound his head, even though the sword was able to penetrate the cap easily.

In the end the axemen died because i inflicted many, little, bleeding wounds to his head.

Not being able to build a farm on top of soil is actually a bug; that should get fixed soon enough.

Toady's delirious from sleep deprivation now, though, and I'm not much better. Might be awhile, but hey, at least we got the site up and running again. :)

(Works better than ever, too)

Cool, thanks for the info Baughn.

Started with a fortress, found I didn't know what the heck I was doing. Stared blankly at the military screen while some rhesus macaques robbed me blind, then sent the failure of a military commander to chase around a groundhog for a month while a couple random migrants showed up (in the first summer!) and laughed.

Checking around in Legends mode right now. There seems to be some sort of war between a goblin civilization (which is mostly/entirely? human and dwarven, oddly) and a dwarven civ over a dispute over formalized agreement. It's been going on for over half a century, and hopefully I picked the dwarven civ at war with them.

Even better:

I played around with the arena, too. Had coelacanth fights and dragon fights and I threw some dwarves in magma for fun (they last longer now, but they unfortunately bleed to death before I can see how melted they can get).

Less than 2 minutes into my first new fortress, and I already have a log in the middle of the wall I was trying to build which the dwarves refuse to move.

Otherwise I'm loving the new version. Arena is a lot of fun. All the new military options will take some getting used to...equipping soldiers seems especially difficult.

Edit: after saving and exiting, then loading back up, the dwarves happily moved that pesky log out of the way.

Yeah, my first fortress starved to death because I couldn't get anything planted underground and I got 20+ vagrants immigrants before I even got my first caravan.

* Farming on soil issue confused the crap out of me and caused the death of my first fortress.
* Holy craaapppp immigrants immigrants immigrants I get some every. Single. Season. I got some even after my fortress started going crazy/starving/drowning due to mining hilarity.
* The interface improvements are already a big step forwards. Due to playing so much of the old stuff it's actually taking a bit of time to get used to, but I definitely have no complaints about the progress made.
* Not seeing a performance hit yet, except in worldgen.
* Made a Large Island. It's an absolutely beautiful world that has loads of stuff I love. I don't know if I will ever again make a non-Island realm. Oh, and there's a moderately sized island known as The Adorable Continent. I imagine it to be full of kobolds.

Actually i like the steady, little waves of migrants. You get stuff done much faster- Now if i`d only had the Dwarven rapist..

Farming isn't impossible. I just diverted a pond into my farm, and voila.

The only issue aside from the farming problem seems to be the invulerability of the Bronze Colossus. Before, it was too weak, now, it will not die. However, you can render it almost entirely helpless by severing both hands and feet.

I wouldn't rely on that though.

No fortress is complete without at least one rapist!
