Anyone noticed \data\init\announcements.txt?

You can now set what events pause the game or not, etc.

You can? Nice.

I really appreciate not being stopped constantly whenever my dwarves find a pretty rock.

not sure if this is a bug or not, but so far raccoons are no longer tame-able. Waiting to catch something else to see if anything else is no longer tame-able

The new world I got from Create New World Now was one I'd never seen the likes of before from that option. It has a lot of water and the land is a lot sparser than normal, more spread out too, Goblins on one continent, Elves and Humans on the other. Got my first migrant wave in summer too, and almost all of the dwarves came with a High-Master skill level of something and lots of Competents in other skills; I got a High-Master Miller who is a Competent Spear, Shield, Armor, Fighter, and Dodger dwarf.

I also got this guy, who just cracked me up when I saw it.

What can I say? Brain transplants are hilarious. Even especially when they go wrong.

Some of these forgotten beasts are hilarious, my favorite one so far is a humanoid made completely of clear glass with deadly spittle. Another one was a gigantic duck composed of ash, with a bloated body and webs.

Oh god, just found a blob of mud that stings, mud that stings, jesus that has to hurt.

Holy FUCK slade is heavy/just plain awesome. For comparison, Hematite has a density of 5100 (about 1/40 of slade).

So far this is awesome.  A few bugs here, but the work put in by Toady is evident.  I love a lot of the new UI stuff.  Also, I don't think I'll ever use a reveal tool ever again because of how awesome the cave stuff is.

Speaking of bugs:
"Urist McDwarf cancels Construct Cloth Bag:  Needs 10000 plant cloth"

I dunno how to upload pictures here, so I had to quote it.  I had my guy create cloth bags (repeat) out of the 5 plant cloth I had, and that's the error I got when he ran out of material.

Wow. I guess that's our offensive equivalent of adamantine, then.

edit: hang on, that's a stone... but it has metal tags... uh. Well I'm still hoping it can be used for weapons (or at least some crazy slingshot ammo).

Is there any way to mod forgotten beasts to be arena-able?

Also: does mayday still work-ish?
