WOW, this is awesome! Thanks for destroying any hope of non-dwarf-fortress-related activities today Toady! I may just be donating a bit of money as a thank you (I'm a poor student dammit, I live off stale bread and water). Anyway, thus far it is awesome.

If anyone doesn't want to find out about new features, don't view this spoiler:

Now, the next spoiler may actually be a serious spoiler relating to HFS-equivelent stuff. Don't say I didn't warn you:

More updates will come later.

Hi!

Well, okay, i see there are some new options in world generator, and....and that seems to be it. Cant say i noticed anything else new.
It's not exactly  joke release, but did we really need a new release just for this ?

I suppose you have not checked fortress mode, then.
The medical stuff seems to be there, although I have not had any wounded dwarves to see it in action.
Migrants have lots of skills now (at least at times)
Descriptions are very extensive for dwarves (though there is a lot of "somewhat")
Megabeasts do not die during world gen, it seems.
Burrows are there and working.
And these are just the things I noticed until shortly after my first elven caravan (^_^;;

By...by Armok...

The underground is so...so...beautiful.  Are you aware of the gravity of this version?

I'll have to work for weeks to get Dwarfletter working again...

HEY, you should try my Dwarfletter tileset...it's pretty.
I make games, too

Thank you, Toady.  May you live forever, and may your beard grow to at least a meter in length.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I hope the site goes back to normal after today, though. Hurts my eyes.

On another note, what's with the weird version number? I like the old system better where it showed the number of reqs and bloats and stuff.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I have an impression that this version works form me under wine better than the previous one.

Now, the next spoiler may actually be a serious spoiler relating to HFS-equivelent stuff. Don't say I didn't warn you:

I have 50 layers to dig through to get there on my site. 50!

Also, about bug reports, it looks like there is a need to fish through some typos.

RRR I just bought M&B: Warband, doesnt look like that will get played for several weeks...

Anyone who didnt immediately pit 40 naked elves against one adamantine-clad dwarf is an elf-loving hippy...

Also is there a way of checking how many kills someone has in arena mode?

And what is this new skill 'Fighting'?

Wow, the site went offline for quite some time, oh, new version! :D

Now, guys, GET WIKI EDITING! :P

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

I loved watching my two dorves in my brand-new barracks, and seeing their equipment menu get checked off while they gathered new gear, and and and... EVERYTHING!

Toady, you may have just ascended to the state of godhood of gaming... either that, or you just plain rock. Either's fine with me, off to play df now.... *mad cackling*

OMGRELEASEDAYAPOCALYPSE!

Damned forums, but at least I've started to browse around the raw files and screw with arena.  Some noticeable changes.  Alright modding some of it.

Took me awhile to mentally process some of that new creature detail stuff...
Now I can further discriminate based on looks, not just race and personality!  Thanks Toady.

It's obvious you have not played yet, or else you would have noticed the doctors, and the arena, and the new military screen, and..., and..., and..., and...

Well done!
I completely expected the download to be the earliest possible version of DF tarn could get his hands on.

Well played April 1st joke. A joke with a very happy end.
Best possible release date ever.
