cave crocadile hs given birth

like the title said I got this message, but do not have any tamed or untamed crocs

also if I capture a wild animal who is pregnant and it gives birth in a cage, is the baby still wild (and more importantly is it (or will it) still in the cage)?

From the description of the event, I think that your copy of Dwarf Fortress was on drugs when this happened. That's surely the only logical explanation for a human werewolf with deadly farts dying from it's own excrement after slaughtering some goblins comrades.

You have an as yet undiscovered underground river or pool containing cave crocodiles.

A wild animal which is captured and put into a cage while already pregnant will give birth in the cage.  Its baby will be wild, and will be in the cage, at least initially.  If the cage is built rather than sitting loose in a stockpile a dwarf may come along and remove the baby and place it in its own cage, as the baby isn't considered to be assigned to the cage.
