I like this thread. I want to get a really cheap USB drive, put all my 40d and 40d# saves on it and throw it in a lake (no magma pipe on my embark site :-\)

Gameplay wise... I like the idea of building a giant USB stick and dropping it into a volcano.

Not sure, I'll have to plan something.

Maybe build a rocket (a square rocket probably, don't want to deal with the hassle of making it in a circle) suspended over the open magma pipe and when it comes time, 'launch' the rocket, with everybody inside.

I even tried to name it something having to do with transcendence or enlightenment, so I went with the group name bieng The Light of Dimensions and the fort name bieng Firedawn.

Remember to build it upside down. And the word is "being".

Detonate my fortress! (I've built it around a outrageously complex Super-Dwarvenly mixture of magma, magma mist, booze, lignite, bauxite, and multiple caveins all waiting to happen as soon as several levers are pulled is more or less the closest to a DF explosive as possible)

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Actually get a noble?

...Nah, the lag would angrify me too much.

That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Hope that the FPS issues are better in the new version :)

Seriously, I seem to be having some wierd lag glitching which seems to affect the whole computer. I think it may be the single threading issue. Although the lag is being typical for the point where I get to around 100 or close to 100 dwarves.

Well I am in the process of finishing my last fort. It is a 10 z level fort suspended over a ocean. With one lever pull it will all come crashing down. I just got to wait for winter to freeze so I can connect the support to the lever.

Whatever it is, I've already done it. I can't say I've touched my fort in a few weeks, and won't be picking it up again -- impending release in all.

I guess it's "Save the game". Goodbye little dwarves, and whatever interesting things you were building. You're all dead to me now.

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

Collapse an entire embark site, aside from the outer most walls. (i will try for 16x16)
If i have time, i will have some massive construction up as well.
