Reasonableface chickened out.

Don't worry though, we'll menace him into doing it next weekend. With fire.

Yeah, I also could not make it today. Too much homework to finish up.

All Flesh Must Be Eaten is go.

I'm planning on doing it in sectors.  I'll have a main overhead map and divide it up into a grid of some sorts, and map out each one as the group gets to it.  It'll be awesome.

When/where is this game?  And how does All Flesh Must Be Eaten go down?  I know is a TTRPG about zombies and all, but I have no familiarity with it.

I don't know, I haven't even started, but I'm going to start.  It's a very lightweight ruleset, bears some resemblance to Mongoose traveller in that there's a lot of 2d6 rolling (I think, I can't remember).  Some things I don't like very much, like there's a distinct and obvious number of shots you can make before it becomes impossible to hit, which seems very artificial.  Like, if you have a +1 to hit bonus, you can shoot like 5 or 6 times before the penalty makes it impossible to hit.  It kinds of hurts immersion to have glaring game stuff like that.

Other than that it's awesome though.  Huge amount of customization in the zombies.  You can have fast, flimsy, 28 Days Later zombies, more traditional slow headshot only zombies, zombies that can use tools, zombies that can apply problem solving skills, all kinds of stuff.  Humans can either be Norms, Survivors, or Inspired, which determines their skill and attribute points as well as whether or not they get special powers (No Inspired in my games.  This isn't Dungeons and Douchebags, you can't be a wizard.)  Last time I allowed one survivor in a group or Norms, to take on a leadership role, I'll probably do something similar.

Basically the game will involve surviving, scavenging, finding survivors, and eventually escaping.  I am not afraid to kill PCs in a game like this.  You will die.

Here is the old thread that I abandoned because I'm a horrible GM, and the first post has a detailed description of the rules, including a play example with Jim and Pam from The Office.

Zombie tabletop? Sounds fun.

Been reading the rules, and I came to that awful, awful idea that everyone gets after reading a rulebook for modern-day settings.  The characters should be...

The Players Themselves

It'll be great, because we'll always be in character, we won't worry about rolls making up for skills people don't know about, nobody putting all their skill points in Martial Arts, and that much more incentive to play along and care about injury.  Plus, a whole party full of Intelligence 5's with no meatshields.

It could be cool.

And what about WorkerDrone?  He punched a guy so hard his teeth were in his fist.  Assuming he didn't lie, but that would be shameful.

15% chance that the 'Drone has been lying. Another 15% that he was exaggerating.

That's a 70% chance Drone punched a guy's teeth into his hand.

Thoughts on a setting yet?  Spitballing is always fun.  Thinking about it though, I'm suddenly having second thoughts about everyone playing stated versions of themselves.  For purely pragmatic reasons, if someone dies, they're just out of the game without being cloned.  Which given the game, isn't impossible, but is a sticky question.

Just to confirm with the thread that the idea is dead, I take it there's no interest around for a GURPS game, eh?

It's an RPG system.

I might play it, although my schedule's going to be a little full what with CoC and AFMBE and D&D and Would You Please and Pekingese, and Fleas.

GURPS
This word is new to me.

I've heard of it.  Been meaning to try it out for quite some time now, but I've never had the chance... so I'd be interested, at least.  Assuming you'd take someone who has no idea what they're doing. :P
