Really, I need to find something easy to set up, easy to run, quick to the kill, and relatively modifiable.

Or at least something I can come together with a few people to dick around with for a single session.

Thought about boardgames? I know that's not even remotely what you meant, but they are designed pretty much with those specifications in mind.

Also, didn't Aqizzar say GURPS was simple? Now's your chance to rant, A.

Yeah, but here's the thing.

I -don't- want to GM.

There are no GMs for board games.

When I think board game, I think Monopoly.  I guess the banker could be the GM.

We need to have a Bay12 Monopoly/Risk/Etc. night.

This should be done. I know there are RISK programs out there, but I don't think they are real time enough for us.

Might I direct all interested parties towards a new thread regarding upcoming role playing events?

When do you guys usually host games, late night? I would really like to play, but pretty much anytime before 10:00 wouldn't work.

Nevertheless, can I get an invite to the group? 'eduren' is my steam name aswell.

I'm still open to hosting an 'X-Files' style of episodic World of Darkness campaign. Interest, guys?

It will be more 'X-Files' than Vanilla WoD, with you guys playing as FBI agents who investigate a number of paranormal cases.

EDIT: Maybe I'll mix in some 'Shadow of Innsmouth' or 'Twin Peaks' style action, too.

This is looking like it's lacking interest, so if I don't get some sort of response to it soon, I will probably just scrap the idea.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

Well, the game concept is interesting.  But I really don't like the WoD system, so...  I dunno.  I don't want to make you run a system you don't want to, but I'm not going to play a system I don't like either.  So even though I had interest in the concept I didn't want to be the first to say so.

If you have a better system, I'd be happy to hear about it.

Well, it's not strictly better, it's all just personal preference anyway.  But I'm fond of the BRP system myself.  It's most often associated with Call of Cthulhu.  Basically, characters spend their skill points to increase skills during character generation. To succeed on a task they have to roll under their skill value with a d100.  There's also rolled attributes which influenced your starting skill points and your HPs.  Usually those never increased.  The devil is in the details though, so we'd need a list of skills appropriate for FBI investigators.

Well, if people would prefer Call of Cthulhu's system to WoD's system, I'm fine with that. My main concern is (from experience of 4-5 years ago) that CoC seems to be set in a 1920s era, and there might have to be massive conversion of things like equipment to upgrade to the present era.
