Build better cooling systems for the overheating weapons.

They're not really overHEATing, more overLOADing. Heat is just a symptom of the problem.
You might as well not overcharge them like that, the laser nuke seems to be plenty effective anyway, and everything else can't really compete even with the overcharge.
But if I improve the heating systems the overloading won't be a problem.

If successfule, it would probably act as a +1, while stopping the overload would disable the check entirely.

How do you make anything explosive out of construction metal?

It's all protons, neutrons, and electrons.  Just mixing them up a little.

On a related note, I know all the digits of pi.  I'm just working on their order...

Text:

After landing, the party heads to the TOAST military center. Qwerty stops in front of the door and looks around it. Colnel Jameson is talking to a man with a cape and a suit on a viewscreen.

??Cape??: "Everything is going according to plan, correct?"
Jameson: "Yes, emperor. They have destroyed the entity in our voidspace. They should be back any minute."
??Cape??: "Good. LSR-005 has been brought up to date on this situation. You do realise this situation must be of some great importance to warrant my direct involvement, Colnel?"
Jameson: "Yes, of course... What is it that is so important?"
??Cape??: "I'm afraid that's not for you to know... A personal matter, you might say. Might. I understand they have successfully replicated some of... our weapons systems, yes?"
Jameson: "They have. An SDW-120 and one of those old missile racks..."
??Cape??: "Ah, yes... the missile rack. One of my favorite inventions. You don't need anything from me, do you?"
Jameson: "No sir."
??Cape??: "Good. And Colnel..."
Jameosn: "Yes?"
??Cape??: "Follow your orders. Don't ask why. Ther are some things man was not meant to know. And send NUKM with them."
Jameson: "I understand."
??Cape??: "Connection closed." *brief static*

Jameson exits the building.

Jameson: "Ah, you're back. We have something for you to take along. Come on."

You follow him back to the Jefferson, where a team of engineers are installing an Awesome Portal onto the Jefferson.

Jameson: "Using this portal, you can return to this TOAST Industries site as well as any open AP, such as the one on Frelock's station. We've also included devices to allow you to return to a general location that you have been to before... though it won't be good for moving within one area, it should be able to move you from one area to another."

NUKM strolls up.
Jameson: "NUKM will be accompanying you to your next destination. I hope he'll be helpful."

Everyone boards the ship, and Sermo contacts the party.

"We're sending you into an extremely dangerous place underground. Your ship won't be much use there."

They all find themselves in a dark cavern.

Everyone notices some new items on their person.

Frelock finds himself with 1500 gold coins, a pair of leather gloves, and a stethescope.
ExKirby, though still unconcious, has a two-handed sword and an oil lamp.
Inteuniso has a lance, a longsword, and some carrots. And a horse.
Sensei finds himself with 1000 gold pieces, a tin operner, a credit card, an expensive camera, and a hawaiian shirt.
Typoman finds himself with a robe, an small shield, a mace, and a clove of garlic.
Knight85 finds himself with a cloak, two rings, a "spellbook of force bolt" and a magic marker.
Tehstefan finds himself with a bullwhip, a touchstone, a tinning kit, and a pickaxe.
Dragnar finds himself with some coasters (as in ruined PCBs), a cattle prod modified to be lethal, and some blank floppy discs.
Qwertyuiopas finds nothing beyond a pair of gloves and six fortune cookies.
