Find out just how many jackals I can hit with one swing of an axe. And in general, be metal.

Take out my pulse rifle and longsword, and start killing.

Preferably while flipping around and using my amazing kung-fu skills. I want to look badass while doing it.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Tehstefan: 1

Asking NUKM to kill is about as nessecarry as telling a dog to eat steak. He leaps with relish into the fray, smashing two jackals against the wall with his forcers, then mowing down four more with his turret guns. He then proceeds to stomp one more, because he damn well can.
You, however, are set upon by a pair of jackals who reach you before you can bring them down with your magnum. They knock you down...

Qwertyuiopas: 1

You configure your tool to set yourself to an invisible color, and approach the jackals. However, they are quite accustomed to not seeing much of anything, and track you through smell. They attack...

Sensei: 2

You bring your massive uranium battleaxe up, but you are set upon by jackals, and it is too heavy to lift without great concentration.

Inteuniso: 6

You take up your lance, sword, and firearm and charge into battle! You behead a jackal with your sword, and run another through with your lance! You fail to notice, however, where you are going, and smash into a wall and fall off of your steed. Jackals begin attacking you.

Typoman: 6

You focus, drawing power from the deepest and darkest pits of the universe, incredible engines of creation fuled by massive sources of power. You speak the concepts you request into the energy streams, but you loose controll of them and they begin to carry out their task with wild abandon.
As the fields snap and the streams fall into chaos, you notice that your wounds have healed completely. However, you feel somewhat unstable...

Frelock: 5

You close up the wounds that the jackals inflict almost as soon as they are inflicted. You wonder how effective the opposite procedure would be...

Knight85: 2

These worlds seem to have quite different inherent energies than your home, and you cannot arrange them into any meaningful order yet.

ExKirby: 1

You run in, blasting at jackals, but they jump on you and drag you down. There dosn't seem to be any limit to their number...

Your robots run in and begin smashing jackals left and right!

Dragnar: 6

You stand up, ready your drill, and charge into the room with the jackals with your drill spinning at full tilt. You run ten jackals through before ramming into a wall and getting stuck (cannot move drilling arm next turn)

Hey, sorry about being gone for so long, but internet at the hotel turned out to be insanely expensive(I could get high-speed internet for a month with that fee).  It'll probably be a few more days before I'll be able to post again.

In any case,

Find out how effective the reverse can be.

unstable usually means you are about to teleport in nethack, but hmm this probably won't be good.

EPIC MIND POWERS GO!

Use my mind to fling the jackals off me. If nothing else, to get them away for a moment, so I can stand and shoot.

That will only make them Chunky Salsa all over the place, not increase its killing power... what you want is One Hit Kill or Critical Hit.
