Separating bags and coffers/chests.
« on: March 01, 2008, 07:21:00 pm »

Pretty easy request.  When building bedrooms it's kind of annoying to sort through all the empty bags I keep for sand to find the coffers/chests I want in bedrooms.

Oh yes, yes.  Also, bags as very expensive chests is just weird.

Why would anyone want to "build" a bag anywhere anyway?

Seconded!  And I've seen the request before too.

IRL, you wouldn't.

IDF, because a no-frills rope reed bag is a chest worth $60 while a =felsite coffer= is only worth $50.  A good-quality GCS silk bag can be worth thousands.

Note: I'm not against people using bags as chests/coffers in rooms.  Diversity is what makes DF so damn good.  Just a menu option to separate the two would be nice.

Actually, if you want a stockpile with only bags or only boxes, you can use the material menu to seperate them... You cannot make a "Bag" out of stone or glass or non-adamantine metal, nor can you make a box out of silk or leather, or plant fiber.

Read:
Royal Quality Rooms with only a few bags -- and it fills the chest requirement, too!
