WHAT IS LOVE!?
« on: March 27, 2010, 12:07:49 am »

I'm about 20 years late.

Baby don't hurt me!

Anyone else nostalgic for a time that they never lived in?

The times they are-a changing.

I don't feel like linking it.

To busy listening to your awesome song.

THRILLAR!
« Reply #4 on: March 27, 2010, 12:11:23 am »

I'm about 20 years too late to make a thread about an old song.

 THRILLAR!

Anybody else want to post really old things?

What, haven't you ever seen A Night at the Roxbury? WHAT IS LOVE is double-old-news. It's on the soundtrack. Which I totally don't own.

Because that would be embarrassing.

Wait. We're talking really old cool shit?

Know what's fun? I'm not the kind of person getting offended by anything, and not this too,
but a German band singing 'They carried fear and terror into each country, neither lightning or thunder could stop them' is rather ironic.

Sadly...these are my teenage years you're mocking.  :'(

And now I have to go find an MP3 of What is Love to put on my iPod. Alongside C+C Music Factory and Technotronic. (I'm a sucka for the house techno)

I think I'm with Acanthus tho...the 1930's and 1940's were just an effing brilliant time in American music. You had modern folk, country, big band, swing, the crooner set, Delta blues, bluegrass....and thanks to the New Deal, you had the government sending people all over the country and recording a lot of it.

And you had Woody Guthrie. Without whom, there would have been no Bob Dylan.

I actually liked it because of the tune. Genghis Khan isn't too bad of a topic either. Just a few days ago I noticed somebody listening to 'A whore to a chainsaw' on youtube.

Music is just too violent these days. I yearn for the times when all you needed was love.
