I like the idea of Replicant Footsoldiers, ala FEAR, with battlemechs and hordes of drones...

I think our Craptop could only handle designs for a 2-story battlemech. Besides, this is the SCIENCE!tist who is struggling to get enough money together to buy decent pretzels.

To be fair that's a dozen pack. And Snyders are pretty hardcore.

Hey, what if later in the game, we make our servitors like Replicants, but they lack true free will, and they have keywords to enable their undying service and loyalty, like Jack from Bioshock for example.

We are a man of SCIENCE! not a man of STUPID!; all we have to do is program the personalities of our free-willed servitors such that they want to follow our leadership, Poof, problem solved.

Enslaving them or putting some sort of rules or restrictions on them is just bound to end in failure; you just make it so that to them, following our orders makes them happy, they enjoy doing it and want to do it in the same way that people enjoy eating and want to eat.

The thing is, they are not free-willed, they simply lack the knowledge to rebel. Tactics and knowledge will be programmed into their brains as they grow in tubes. They will be subhuman soldiers tailor-made to their specific roles in the army of SCIENCE!, from pilots to specops to medics to standard grunts. That is my dream!

But you can do so much more if you also give them free will; that way they can think outside the box.

Hmmm... what about a mix, ala Clone Troopers from Star Wars? But how would we control them... grow them on our personality cult or something?

Like i said; they just need to be programmed (either biologically or via AI) to enjoy following our orders.

The reason people eat is because their bodies compel them to; they gain enjoyment out of eating and if they stop eating they suffer and die. Same principle.

Hmm... So a synthesis of the two concepts we have would probably be the best plan for our footsoldiers, right?
