*Explore surroundings, find abandoned buildings for stuff inside or for secret base.
*Train and observe our newfound rat friend named Squiggles.

We shall call him... Squiggles?

*Get some Phat Lewt.
*Study up our skills.

So let's just find a cage for him out in the 'yard, and observe the surroundings for anything of interest while we're at it.

Take the Anklebiter out for a short walk around the neighborhood.

Examine Surroundings while on said walk.

(Seriously. All we know is that we have a run-down apartment building and a junkyard. There's got to be something more there)

I'll vote for going on a walk to examine our surroundings, but I see no reason to reveal our genius inventions to the world yet, and don't see much gain to it. If people know that we make robots, they'll have a much easier time tracking us down later, once we have killbots doing various deeds for us.

We should also look for used book stores or pawn shops. We don't need the programming book anymore.

You can basically just say "Go to X" and you'll go to the nearest X. In case you couldn't tell, I've been implying that our titular Man of SCIENCE! has lived here for some time. He knows his way around reasonably well.

You recall a pawn shop is reasonably close - part of why you're in this particular basement, in fact. Of course, as it's a rather advanced book, you consider that (at the risk of approaching a university... ugh) you might be able to get a better price (though a less immediate sale) by selling it to one of the students there.

yep. a couple pages ago, or at least before I started posting.

And I for one don't belive in any long term decisions, because the longer the thread lasts, the less of a chance it will survive, meaning that chances are good it will be dead. Meaning let's have fun while we can. Besides, lady luck favors the bold.

Alright then, let's go for it, sell the book for a good price.  And let's get a better idea of our surroundings, because we don't know what is all out there.

To maintain our PRIDE at visiting the university we must (and it makes me gag, but me must) Temporarily Interact With the Student Body.

The reason is simple - we must find a student, a student with potential. A student versed in a SCIENCE! We will not draw him away yet. We will find him, and follow him, and plan. Because when we steal the best and brightest from the University by luring him in with our potential, our promises, and our idealogy. THAT WILL SHOW THEM!

This is painful, but ultimately worth the price. Selling the book is just our cover for this brilliant scheme.
